EJAC supports ULB employees protest call | KNO

Terms their demands as genuine

Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) president, Abdul Qayoom Wani on Saturday supported the protest called by the employees of Urban Local Bodies, Kashmir. Pertinently, the employees of Urban Local Bodies, Kashmir, have threatened the government that they will go for strike on 13 and 14 November and protest in all Municipal Institutions of the Kashmir Division and on 15 Nov all the employees will assemble at Press Enclave for redressal of their pending demands. President (J&KEUF), Manzoor A. Pampori had told KNS that the employees, especially the lower class employees, of the department have all along been striving to provide basic civic amenities and other related services to the inhabitants of the state with utmost efficiency and dedication. Pampori had said that despite that their demands have not been addressed by the authorities till date. Wani talking to KNS said that they extended their support to the employees and termed their demands as genuine. He said that the demands of employees must be fulfilled at the earliest. “In case the demands of ULB employees won’t be fulfilled, we (EJAC) will hit the streets for which the government will be held responsible,” he said.
